Come join us for an exciting 2-day or masters spearfishing course located Delpy pool Bodmin. This course is designed to help you improve both your freediving and spearfishing abilities. During this course, you will spend day 1 focusing on freediving and buddying safety techniques to ensure the safety of yourself and your fellow divers.  Immerse yourself in the art of sustainable spearfishing with our comprehensive two-day course, meticulously crafted by competitive freediver, Spearfishing Champion Matt Hill and AIDA Master Instructor Oli. This unique experience combines theoretical insights, practical skills, and hands-on spearfishing in the ocean.

Day 1 - Day 1 learn the freediving fundamentals for spearfishing at Delpy Pool

*Freediving and buddying * Freediving theory * Freediving and spearfishing equipment * How to hold your breath * Equalising the pressure in your ears on decent * Recovery breathing after a breath hold * Rescuing your buddy up to 10m *

Day 2- Spearfishing A full day spent spearfishing from Plymouth or Cornwall this depends on the weather on the day. All courses are run as shore dives teaching you how to master shore diving in the UK. * Spearfishing equipment and how to set up * Loading a speargun and aiming * Dive planning ( Tides, currents, sea charts ) * How to hunt different species * Dispatching and cleaning fish

All spearfishing dives are run from the shore in Plymouth or the surrounding areas due to the weather dictating the dive location the exact location is determined 5 days before. All equipment is supplied. Full terms and conditions are listed on the website and must be read before booking.

Where are you based?

Operating from Plymouth in the Southwest UK and from a 30m deep quarry in St Tudy Cornwall for inland freediving courses. 

 

Do I need to be fit?

A basic level of fitness is required and to be able to swim to a confident ability ( 200m ) is a must. A medical questionnaire is required to be completed along with a liability release. MEDICAL FORM DOWNLOAD

 

What happens if I don't pass a part of my freediving courses ?

If you fail a particular section of your freediving course you will be given the chance to re attempt the areas requiring work if there is time on the day or come back at a future date to complete the area you require more work. 

 

What do I need to bring?

Pen, paper, appropriate clothing for the weather, Crocs or flip flops anything to make yourself comfortable.
